What this Blog is about…

This Blog is mainly about Grassroots MotorSport. It is a subject close to my heart and, as described elsewhere, a sport that I have been involved with for almost all of my adult life. Although my original background was in motorcycle sport, this Blog is firmly about Cars – although I may touch upon the biking scene from time to time…

Grassroots Motorsport is a broad church and embraces many branches; this Blog is about many of the diverse disciplines that make up the wonderful world of Grassroots Motorsport. This could include in no particular order: Trackdays, AutoSolo, Autotests, Sprints, Hill Climbs, Time-Attack, Autograss, RallyCross, Rallying, Drag Racing, all the different kinds of saloon and single seater circuit racing, Trials, Karting and Cross-Country Racing et al.

Mostly I will be ignoring the major MotorSport events and championships, although some News Flashes and comments of general interest may creep in from time to time. Major events of our Sport are better covered by the many well-known magazines and newspaper and instead I shall concentrate upon Grassroots events that perhaps editorially, are not so well covered.  

In the course of the year I hope to visit many new venues [to me] and learn, watch and write about many different events. All this and compete in a number of Sprints and Hill Climbs too – phew…

I have been writing on motoring subjects for over thirty years and although partially retired, are still actively competing in Motorsport events and writing about Motorsport and Motoring topics. I started a website several years ago but found that maintaining it was onerous and far too ambitious in scope. I have taken the decision that my Website [that you have probably never heard of] will be discontinued and that all of my writing efforts will be concentrated upon this new blog. It will be an interesting experience and I encourage participation from all that happen upon it.
